Shining the light on the hill by connecting with Jesus Christ, connecting with each other, and connecting with the world.

Missions & Outreach

Our ministries to the community and world fall into two categories:  Missions and Outreach. Scroll down to read more about some of the ways we connect to the world and to the community.

Ministry Of Missions

SLINKY TUTORING AT AMANDA UMC

After school, twice a week, students walk across the street from Amanda Elementary (Oxford State Rd., Middletown) to be greeted by mentors from both churches. Text/Email Gina at 937-514-3793/gmatcraft@gmail.com to find out how you can serve God and His children through this
very effective mission.

CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

We support partner ministries such as Hope House in Middletown. Our Advent special offering each year is dedicated for work helping women and children through programs at Hope House..

DISASTER RESPONSE AND CRISIS RELIEF

By way of our United Methodist Committee on Relief we support and contribute to those who have experience tragedy and crisis. Whether it is hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, wildfires, or famines, we roll up our sleeves and reach out with clean-up buckets, health kits, money, and support teams. 100% of gifts to UMCOR go to the work on the ground. FOOD PANTRY SUPPORT

We strive to provide assistance for food, evictions, utility disconnections, dental and prescriptions for children through organization like the Monroe Food Pantry housed at the Church of the Nazarene. Emergency assistance is provided to individuals and families in need of food, essential non-food items, temporary financial assistance, job readiness and crisis counseling.

HOMELESS SHELTERS

We support the local homeless shelter, Hope House in Middletown, which provides safe, temporary shelter in a clean environment, three meals each day, clothing and personal care items. They also offer case management to assist residents in finding the help they need to resolve their situation. Through our financial resources, collection of paper products and food, and meal/serving preparation throughout the year, we work to help those who have basic housing needs. Additionally, we contribute to help connect people who care, with people in need through Interfaith Hospitality Network of Warren County. Besides housing and food, this ministry also attempts to provide childcare for families while they are working or seeking employment.

STUDENT MINISTRIES

Support of the Wesley Foundation UM campus ministry at University of Cincinnati develops disciples and leaders among students at UC, Xavier, and other Cincinnati institutions of higher education. Learn more here

MITTEN TREE

is a United Methodist Women sponsored outreach program where members of the congregation can place children’s gloves, mittens, hats and scarves on the branches of the tree to aid children and youth in our area. This drive takes place during the Christmas season.

ONE WAY FARM

This is a home for abused, abandoned and troubled children.   We normally host an annual picnic for the children with food, games and prizes. We have donated items for their Thrift Store and helped with painting and cleaning. Last year we donated backpacks and all their school supplies, including scientific calculators, for all the children at our annual picnic.
