THE PEACE OF GOD’S TIMING
Scripture: Luke 1:19–23, 57–66
Zechariah must wait—longer than expected—for the fulfillment of God’s promise. His season of silence stretches on, and surely there were moments when he wondered whether God would act. Yet the story beautifully affirms that God did not forget him. When the time was right, the promise was fulfilled.
We often struggle with waiting. We want God to answer now, change things now, or reveal the next step now. But waiting is not wasted time in God’s kingdom. It is formative time. It stretches our trust and teaches us to depend on God rather than our own urgency.
The birth of John and Zechariah’s restored voice remind us that God’s timing is never late—only different from ours. Peace comes when we remember that delay does not equal absence.
Reflection Question:
Where do you need God to help you trust His timing?
Action Step:
Each time impatience surfaces today, pray slowly: “God, I trust Your timing.”
Prayer:
Lord, calm my restlessness and teach me to trust Your perfect timing. Amen.
