When Life Starts Changing Faster Than You Want - Sunday, 05/03/2026
Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:1–8
There are moments in life when time feels like it’s moving too fast—and others when it feels like it’s standing still. For many in our community, life includes juggling work, family, and caregiving, while quietly noticing that bodies change, energy shifts, and loved ones age. That realization can bring a subtle but persistent fear: things are not staying the same.
Ecclesiastes reminds us that life moves in seasons. There is a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot. That truth can feel unsettling, especially in a culture that tries to resist aging and avoid talking about death. But Scripture does not avoid it—it names it honestly.
Naming reality is not meant to discourage us. It is meant to ground us. When we stop pretending we are in control of time, we begin to open ourselves to trusting the One who holds time.
That trust doesn’t erase fear, but it reframes it. Instead of clinging to what we cannot control, we begin to ask: how can I live this season well? How can I love deeply, show up fully, and receive each day as a gift?
Even in seasons of decline or uncertainty, God is present. And that presence invites us not just to endure life—but to live it with meaning, even now.
Reflection Question: What season of life are you in right now, and how is it shaping your fears?
Action Step: Take five minutes today to name your current season and one way you can live it more intentionally.
Prayer: God, help me trust you in every season, even the ones I cannot control. Amen.
