Scripture: Ephesians 2:1–10; John 10:10–15
Many people spend years simply trying to get through life. Get through the workweek. Get through the bills. Get through the stress. Get through another difficult season.
Survival mode can become so normal that we forget we were created for more than exhaustion and endless pressure.
Jesus says, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” Not perfect lives. Not pain-free lives. But lives grounded in meaning, connection, grace, and hope.
Ephesians reminds us that we are “created in Christ Jesus for good works.” Our lives are not meaningless repetitions of productivity and consumption. We were made to participate in goodness.
That goodness often appears in ordinary ways — loving families, serving neighbors, creating beauty, building community, showing compassion, pursuing justice, practicing forgiveness.
As you prepare for worship tomorrow, remember this: the longing you feel for something deeper may actually be pointing you toward the life God intends for you.
You were made for more than survival. You were made for life.
Reflection Question: Where in your life do you most long for deeper meaning, joy, or purpose?
Action Step: Set aside ten minutes today to reflect honestly on what gives your life genuine meaning and what drains it.
Prayer: God of abundant life, lift me out of mere survival and awaken me to the deeper purpose and hope you offer. Help me live with courage, gratitude, and love. Amen.
