Wow, God! Keep Opening Our Eyes - Saturday, 07/25/2026

Read: Psalm 8; Psalm 145:1–13

Theme Review: God is our Creator. God knows everything. God is our safe place. God is love. God is forever.

After a week like Rainforest Falls, kids may remember the songs, games, snacks, Bible Buddies, decorations, and laughter. Those things matter because joy helps truth sink deep into the heart.

But the goal of VBS is not just to have a fun week. The hope is that children and families keep discovering God in everyday life.

Psalm 8 begins with wonder: “O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!” The psalm looks at the sky, the moon, the stars, and the smallness of human beings—and then remembers that God still cares for us. Psalm 145 says one generation tells the next about God’s mighty acts. That is what VBS is really about: one generation helping another generation notice God.

And now the invitation continues at home.

When you see a beautiful sunset: Wow, God, you are our Creator.
When your child feels unseen: Wow, God, you know us.
When life feels scary: Wow, God, you are our safe place.
When someone needs kindness: Wow, God, you are love.
When the future feels uncertain: Wow, God, you are forever.

The rainforest theme may be packed away, but the wonder continues.

For reflection: Which Rainforest Falls truth do you most need to carry with you into the rest of the summer?

Try this today: Choose one phrase to remember as a family:
“God made me.”
“God knows me.”
“God protects me.”
“God loves me.”
“God is forever.”

Prayer: Wonderful God, thank you for what children learned, what families shared, and what your Spirit continues to grow in us. Keep opening our eyes to your goodness. Help us live with wonder, courage, love, and hope. Wow, God—thank you. Amen.
