Scripture: Isaiah 6:1–8; Matthew 28:18–20
When many people hear the phrase “mission” or “calling,” they imagine something dramatic or far away. But Jesus’ Great Commission begins much closer to home.
“Go,” Jesus says. Not necessarily across the world — though some are called there — but into the world you already inhabit.
Your neighborhood. Your workplace. Your school. Your family. Your community.
Isaiah responds to God’s call with the simple words, “Here am I; send me.” He does not have every answer. He simply becomes available.
Sometimes we underestimate how much small acts of faithfulness matter. A teacher encouraging a struggling student. A grandparent showing steady love. A neighbor checking in after surgery. A volunteer mentoring a child. A friend listening without judgment.
These moments may not feel dramatic, but they participate in God’s healing work in the world.
Trinity Sunday reminds us that we are not only created and loved. We are also sent.
Reflection Question: Where has God already placed you to be a source of encouragement or hope?
Action Step: Do one intentional act of kindness or encouragement for someone in your everyday environment today.
Prayer: Sending God, help me recognize the opportunities already around me to reflect your love and grace. Use my ordinary life for meaningful purposes. Amen.
