Scripture: Psalm 63:1–5 (Key Verse: v.1 – “My soul thirsts for you…”) + St. Augustine Quote

Sometimes we fill our lives with noise, busyness, and stuff, yet still feel empty. Augustine said, “You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.” That restlessness is a gift—it’s the soul pointing toward God.

The psalmist compares longing for God to thirst in a dry land. We all know that feeling—a parched throat on a hot day at Smith Park or Hornets practice. Just as water refreshes the body, God’s presence refreshes the soul.

When you seek God—not just knowledge about God, but an authentic relationship—you find the rest and joy you’ve been missing.

Reflection Question: What “substitutes” have you been using to fill your restlessness, and how can you turn that longing toward God?

Action Step: Spend ten quiet minutes today—turn off your phone, breathe, and pray Psalm 63:1–5 aloud.

Prayer: Gracious God, quiet my restless heart and draw me closer to You. Help me seek Your presence rather than quick fixes. Amen.
