Scripture: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” – Romans 12:21

Evil is real. We see it in crime, violence, and injustice. But Paul reminds us that evil is not defeated by revenge or hatred—it is overcome by good. That sounds simple, but it is incredibly powerful.

Kairos volunteers show goodness to people the world has written off. Instead of bitterness, they bring forgiveness. Instead of despair, they offer hope. Each act of good weakens the grip of evil. You and I have that same power in our daily lives. Every time we choose kindness over anger, forgiveness over resentment, or generosity over selfishness, we push back the darkness.

Reflection Question: What situation in your life needs more “good” poured into it today?

Action Step: Choose one act of kindness to do for someone you may be in conflict with or tempted to ignore.

Prayer: God, give me strength to overcome evil with good. Help me live in a way that brings light where there is darkness. Amen.
