Scripture: John 13:1–17 (Click to read text)
Key Verse: “Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.” (John 13:17)
Jesus redefines greatness. In a culture obsessed with power, Jesus kneels with a towel and basin. He washes feet that will soon run away, deny him, and even betray him. It’s shocking and beautiful all at once. His message? True greatness isn’t found in being served but in serving.
When we choose to serve, we enter into the rhythm of God’s love. We become participants in a story that lifts others up, restores dignity, and reflects the heart of Christ. Greatness, in God’s eyes, looks like kindness in motion.
And Jesus promises something remarkable—blessing—not when we understand his words, but when we practice them. Serving others isn’t a burden; it’s the secret to a joyful, meaningful life.
Reflection Question: Where might God be inviting you to pick up the towel and serve someone this week?
Action Step: Choose one small act of service today—a note of encouragement, a helping hand, or a quiet kindness.
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for showing us what greatness truly means. Help me kneel in humility, see needs around me, and act with love. Amen.
