Thursday, 8/14/2025 – Living to the Lord

Scripture: “If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.” – Romans 14:8–9 (NIV)

Monroe is a place where people take pride in working hard and taking care of each other. But living “to the Lord” is more than just being a good neighbor—it’s about aligning even our smallest daily actions with God’s purposes. That might mean listening fully to a co-worker who’s struggling, lingering over a meal with gratitude instead of rushing through it, or serving in a way that brings no recognition but deep joy to someone else.

Living to the Lord doesn’t always require a grand gesture. It’s about taking what you already do—parenting, working, volunteering, cooking—and doing it with an awareness that your life is His. Today, choose one specific act and dedicate it intentionally to God. Do it joyfully, as if you were doing it for Him alone.

Prayer: Lord, show me ways today to live for You in small, real, and loving ways. Amen.
