Living Spirit-Filled Lives - Saturday, 05/30/2026

Scripture: Galatians 5:22–25

Many people think spiritual growth is mostly about believing the right things. But the New Testament often measures spiritual maturity differently. The question becomes: What kind of person are you becoming?

Paul describes the “fruit of the Spirit” as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These qualities are not signs of perfection. They are signs that God’s Spirit is shaping a person from the inside out.

That shaping process takes time. Fruit grows gradually. It develops through ordinary faithfulness, daily choices, setbacks, prayer, relationships, and perseverance.

A Spirit-filled life is not about pretending everything is fine. It is about learning to respond differently because God is working within us. Over time, fear gives way to courage. Bitterness gives way to grace. Isolation gives way to connection. Despair gives way to hope.

In today’s culture, outrage and anxiety often spread faster than kindness and patience. That makes Spirit-shaped living even more important. Every act of gentleness, compassion, forgiveness, and peace becomes a witness to another way of living.

Pentecost was never meant to stay confined to one Sunday on the church calendar. The Spirit continues shaping ordinary people every day.

As you prepare for worship tomorrow, ask yourself not only what you believe, but who you are becoming.

Reflection Question: Which fruit of the Spirit most needs to grow in your life right now?

Action Step: Choose one fruit of the Spirit and intentionally practice it in one real-life situation today.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, continue shaping my life day by day. Grow within me the kind of character that reflects the love and grace of Jesus in the world around me. Amen.
