Scripture: Luke 14:12–14 (click to read)

Key Verse: “When you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed.” (Luke 14:13–14)

Jesus often used meals to challenge the social order. He noticed how people invited only those who could repay the favor. So he said, “Invite those who can’t pay you back.”

True hospitality isn’t about impressing guests—it’s about blessing them. It’s about seeing those who are overlooked, extending dignity and belonging. When we do, our tables become mirrors of God’s kingdom.

Maybe it’s a single neighbor, a newcomer to church, or someone eating alone at lunch. When you invite them to your table, you’re offering more than food—you’re offering friendship, healing, and hope.

Reflection Question: Who might be longing for an invitation to your table—or your time?

Action Step: Invite someone this week who often eats alone. Share a meal, listen to their story, and bless them with your presence.

Prayer: Welcoming God, thank You for inviting me to Your table of grace. Help me extend that same invitation to others, especially those who feel unseen. Amen.
