Gratitude and Anxiety-Thursday, 01/22/2026

Scripture: Philippians 4:6–7

Paul connects gratitude directly to peace. He invites believers to bring their worries to God with thanksgiving, trusting that God’s peace will guard their hearts and minds. Gratitude does not eliminate anxiety, but it helps keep anxiety from taking over.

When we name what we are thankful for, even in anxious moments, we remind ourselves that we are not alone. Gratitude becomes a way of grounding ourselves in God’s presence rather than in our fears.

Over time, practicing gratitude alongside prayer can reshape how we respond to stress and uncertainty.

Reflection Question:
How might gratitude help you respond differently to anxiety today?

Practice:
When worry arises, pause and thank God for one concrete gift in that same area of concern.

Prayer:
God of peace, meet me in my anxious moments. Help gratitude open my heart to your calm presence. Amen.
