God Is Our Creator - Monday, 07/20/2026

Read: Genesis 1:1–2:4; Psalm 103:19–22

Sometimes the world can feel ordinary because we see it every day. The sun comes up. The grass grows. Birds sing. Rain falls. Kids laugh. Dinner needs to be made. Laundry needs to be folded. Another day begins.

But Genesis invites us to slow down and see the world differently. The Bible begins by reminding us that everything is a gift. Light is a gift. Sky and water are gifts. Trees and animals are gifts. Human beings are gifts. You are not an accident. Your child is not an accident. This world is not random clutter. Creation is God’s loving artwork.

That is part of what kids learned at Rainforest Falls: God is our Creator. The rainforest is full of wonder—bright colors, strange sounds, hidden creatures, rushing water, and life everywhere. But we do not have to travel to a rainforest to notice God’s creativity. We can see it in a backyard, a park, a child’s drawing, a summer thunderstorm, or the face of someone we love.

And when we notice creation, we are invited to join creation in praise: “Wow, God!”

For reflection: Where did you notice God’s creativity today? What is one ordinary thing you could see as a gift?

Try this today: Take a five-minute “Wow, God!” walk. Look for three things God made, and thank God for each one.

Prayer: Creator God, open our eyes to the wonder all around us. Help us notice the beauty of this world and remember that we are part of your good creation. Teach us to care for what you have made and to live with gratitude today. Amen.
