Welcome to Monroe UMC!
We are so glad you
found your way to our site. Whether you are new to the area, looking for a
congregation to be part of, or seeking answers to some of life’s question, I
hope that you will find a home here at Monroe. Most of the folks who
are here are likely to be your neighbors. Although we were founded (1823)
when the city was formed, we know that we are always changing to be relevant
with the message of Jesus, and are excited about the future. I invite you to attend
one of our worship services. We want to make your first visit with us a
positive experience. Stop by one of the Welcome Centers on Sunday
morning for a free gift. We offer 3 services of worship on Sunday: ·
Early Worship at 8:30
(in our sanctuary) ·
Contemporary Worship at
9:30 (in our family life center), ·
Traditional service at
10:45 (in our sanctuary) Monroe Church is a great place for
my wife, Kelly, and me to raise our family. This congregation is
focused on shining as lights with relevant and inspiring worship, upbeat
music, great youth and children’s ministries, plus many ways to serve,
connect and be in mission to our world. Fellowship is offered for both followers of Christ and
those contemplating the Christian life. It is our heartfelt desire to make
you feel welcome here! pastor

can I expect on my first Sunday visit? Our door greeters will
be happy to help you find your way to our worship centers, the children's
ministry class, nursery, or a fresh cup of coffee. How
should I dress? We want you to be comfortable
and wear whatever you choose. Suits to shorts, dress shoes to
flip-flops, you'll see it all here and feel welcome. Will
I be asked to stand and identify myself as a guest? You will not be
asked to introduce yourself, wear a special nametag, or anything else that
would embarrass you. We want you to know that we'll be ready to connect
when you are. If you would like us to contact you, simply fill out the
Communication Card in the program and drop it in the offering plate as it is
passed or stop by the Welcome Center area and talk with a team member after
the service - it's your choice. Are
you going to ask me for money if I visit? We do take an offering
during each worship service, but as our guest your presence is your gift to
us. If you choose to make an offering, we thank you for participating in
God's work here on earth. Next Steps… Snak and Yak

connect and get to know others in the church family. Drop the church
office an email to find out when the next one is scheduled. Monroe 101 Ministry – This session is for newcomers who are considering
membership. The session is designed to provide a concise orientation to the Monroe
United Methodist Church community and what it means to be a member. A history
of the United Methodist Church and our beliefs are also presented. Life Connections – This is our small group ministry. We have both
Long term and short term groups. Many of our groups are focused around
felt needs and areas of interest but we trust you will find fellowship,
prayer support, personal growth in all. |
