MC900301452[1]Adult Basketball – Opportunity for adult basketball is provided on Sunday evenings (seasonal) from 7-9 in Atchley Hall.  Come out and join us for hoops and fellowship.

MC900440548[1]Adult Exercise Program – Exercise class are held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:00 pm in Atchley Hall.  These sessions are led by a certified instructor, Michelle Schatzley. Everyone is welcome. 

Zumba Exercise Program – Exercise class are held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 7:00 pm in Atchley Hall.  These sessions are led by a certified instructor. There is a cost involved with this program.  Contact us for details.

MC900304687[1]Election Day Luncheon – Come and join us for this annual tradition in Monroe.  These luncheons take place on election-day in November.  Entrees, deserts, and beverages are served in Atchley Hall from noon to late evening.  After you have done your citizenship duty come share a delicious meal and spend some time in fellowship with your neighbors.   A small cost is involved.

Emmaus and Chrysalis Community – We encourage our adults and youth to continue growing in faith and knowledge of the Lord.  Regular Meetings of these two vital teams come together at Monroe UMC to plan, pray, and work for the next flight or walk.  For more information check out our local Emmaus chapter at http://northernlightsemmaus.org

j0446449Fit to be Tied – Marriage Enrichment and relationship sessions are held periodically to work on our communication, conflict resolution, and other important aspects of our marriages.  Whether you have been married for many years, just recently married, or our contemplating entering into this covenant with God, this class will benefit you.

Grief Recovery – A grief recovery program is offered at the church periodically.  Trained leaders help folks on the journey of grief.  For more information contact our church office plus, check out the services of hospice locally at http://hospicecareofmiddletown.com/                

Kairos Ministry – we support the on-going evangelistic efforts of the Kairos ministry www.kairosprisonministry.org. The mission of Kairos Prison Ministry is to bring Christ's love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them, and to assist in the transition of becoming a productive citizen.

MC900160644[1]Line Dancing - Line Dancing meets weekly through the year to learn simple dancing steps and to have some fun and fellowship. Meetings currently take place on Tuesday evenings.

Mustard Seed Card Ministry – Like to stamp or scrapbook?   Come out and join these ladies that meet weekly on Monday evenings to make cards and art.  Experience is not necessary.  These cards go forth to share the message of God’s love.

j0422797Thanksgiving Baskets – Gift baskets are provided to our homebound members and attenders at Christmas and Easter time.  These baskets bless and encourage as laity reach out to support our friends in faith.

Alpha Series - Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting. The Alpha course usually meets once per week for 10 weeks, and includes an amazing one-day or weekend getaway. Each session, people enjoy great food, laughter and learning in a fun and friendly atmosphere where no question about life or God is seen as too simple or too hostile…questions like—Is there a God? Why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going? For more information check out http://alphausa.org

j0395752Invite-A-Friend Sunday – we routinely offer specific Sunday’s throughout the year where we intentionally challenge our members and attenders to invite others to come and experience Monroe UMC. Our hope is to work at eliminating barriers for newcomers and remind our folks just how important it is to be involved in witnessing for Jesus. 

Servant-Evangelism Ministry - "Small Things Done with Great Love Are Changing the World" perhaps best characterizes our approach to this style of evangelism. j0443315j0443316Teacher Appreciation Day & Sunday - we appreciate our schools and support our teachers.  This annual event blesses educators who are preparing to return from a summer vacation for another calendar year of classroom learning. Prayer, food, fellowship, and encouragement are provided.

Upward Sports Ministry – We offer a basketball and cheerleading camp each winter for kindergarten through 6th grades.  We also provide a flag football and cheerleading camp each summer for 1st – 6th grades.  Upward Sports, the world's largest Christian sports league for children, provides a fun kid’s sports experience based on healthy competition. Witness Training – evangelism training is offered periodically.  Becoming a Contagious Christian, Share Jesus without Fear, among other resources our drawn upon to grow in our ability to carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19ff)
